Newcastle’s Best Summer Ever Offers Fun and Food
July 14, 2021 12:28 pmNewcastle’s Best Summer Ever holiday activity scheme is supporting the city’s 5-18 year olds through a combination of sport, play & proper nutrition. Keeping young people fit and fed through the summer.
Newcastle’s Best Summer Ever is part of the government funded £220 million Holiday Activities and Food Programme (HAF). HAF aims to offer fun and food for children and young people in the holidays.
“It’s very important that children have activities to do during the holidays. I can only go back to my own experiences and what I would have been doing if I didn’t have places my friends and I could go in a safe environment.”

Newcastle City Council & StreetGames announced the return of Newcastle’s Best Summer Ever for 2021. Including over 70 different projects, across over 170 venues, including 5 pop-up festivals. Activities delivered by partners will include a range of free fun activities, alongside nutritious food, for children and young people in Newcastle
